What'd you do? Overshoot the town on the first pass and then turn around and drive back in on the other side?
I was just thinking... last time I was out there, in the mid-90s, I was in town on a Sunday, too, and all the Chinati Foundation stuff was CLOSED for the day. Hope things have changed!
Good theory, but no. I came into town in the morning, coming from Alpine. Then I walked around for a while and looked at stuff. I couldn't check into my hotel until 3 pm, so I decided to drive out past Valentine on 90 to see Prada Marfa, which I will write about later. SO driving back into town from the other side, I thought it would be amusing to to take another video. (I guess it was a good thing the fuzz didn't pull me over.) Then I checked into my hotel, slapped some titles on the videos, and voilà--art.
As for the Chinati Foundation, I have my 4 hour guided tour (you read that right) booked for tomorrow.
