Betsy Huete

Betsy Huete is an artist, writer, and used car saleswoman living and working in Houston, TX. She received both her BA and BFA from Rice University in 2005-06 respectively, and received her MFA in sculpture from the University of Houston in 2014. In the summer of 2012, Huete attended the artist residency Mildred’s Lane in Beach Lake, PA, and subsequently contributed to their MoMA exhibition that fall. She will return this August. She has had solo exhibitions at Lawndale Art Center and Matchbox Gallery in Houston and exhibited at Houston’s Fringe Festival in 2012. Huete recently served as the assistant editor of Art Lies, assisting in its merger with Gulf Coast: A Journal of Literature and Fine Arts. She has reviewed for gulfcoastmag.org and runs her own art blog, 29x95.
